বিটিএন রেফারেন্স ডেস্ক স্বেচ্ছাসেবী পরামর্শক মন্ডলী

তৃণমূল পর্যায়ে যেসব টেলিসেন্টার রয়েছে তারা প্রতিনিয়ত কম্পিউটার সংক্রান্ত নানারকম জটিলতার সম্মুখীন হচ্ছেন। এছাড়াও টেলিসেন্টার স্থাপন, ব্যবস্থাপনা, পরিচালনা, আর্থিক ব্যবস্থাপনা সংশ্লিষ্ট পরামর্শ প্রায়শঃই দরকার হয়। এসব টেলিসেন্টারসমূহকে অনলাইন ও অফলাইনে কারিগরী বিভিন্ন সমস্যার সহায়তা প্রদানের উদ্দেশ্যে বাংলাদেশ টেলিসেন্টার নেটওয়ার্ক রেফারেন্স ডেস্ক স্থাপনের পরিকল্পনা হাতে নেয় এবং ৩০ মার্চ ২০০৮ আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধনের পর থেকে এই সহায়তা কেন্দ্র বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে টেলিসেন্টারগুলোকে সহায়তা দিয়ে যাচ্ছে।

এ সেবার আওতায় নিম্নোক্ত তথ্য রেফারেন্স ডেস্ক থেকে পাওয়া যাবে।
  • বিভাগ, জেলা, উপজেলা এবং ইউনিয়ন অনুযায়ী টেলিসেন্টারের অবস্থান;
  • বাংলাদেশের কোন কোন প্রতিষ্ঠান টেলিসেন্টার নিয়ে কাজ করছে;
  • বাংলাদেশে বিরাজমান টেলিসেন্টারের বিভিন্ন মডেল

'Telecentre-in-a-Box', Bangladesh Open Source Network 's (BdOSN) First initiative towards Telecentre Movement in Bangladesh


'Telecentre-in-a-Box', Bangladesh Open Source Network 's (BdOSN) First initiative towards Telecentre Movement in Bangladesh. As being one of the partners of Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN), BdOSN launched this CD Pack (consisting of 2 CDs – Ubuntu and a add-on) at National Telecentre Colloquium 2008. Bangladesh Telecentre Network organized the Colloquium at the Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogra on November 7 – 8, 2008. Around 200 telecentre practitioners was present there to make the event a success. Chairman, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission Mr. Maj. General Manzurul Alam, ndc, psc (Retd.) had inaugurated the ceremony.

Main focus of the colloquium was to understand the existing challenges in telecentre operation and way out to overcome those challenges. There are about 1,100 telecentres in operation in Bangladesh operated by different organizations in different modes and models. Despite all the models, telecentre operators are regularly facing different challenges in operating their telecentres which are lack of relevant content, technical problems, connectivity problems, service designing and packaging and sustainability of their telecentres.

First CodeSprint (15-17, August,08), SUST, Sylhet, Bangladesh


Students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology , Sylhet and few professionals started the First Code Sprint organized by Bangladesh Open Source Network. Professionals from Tiger It Ltd, Nilavo Software, Webcraft Bd Ltd, Arena Mobile and D.Net Bangladesh are also participating in the sprint. Supported by the CSE Society and OSN of SUST, the 3 days event begins with much enthusiasm. The programmer attending the Sprint will focus on 4 projects- A visual tool for quick website development, mobile tool for stock price searching, Development of a Bangla social networking site and a simple Bangla Input plug-in for Firefox.

The Sprint was inaugurated by Khandaker Tavir , Lecturer of CSE Department SUST and also addressed by Munir Hasan, General Secretary of BdOSN.

In the morning 4 team leader explained their task to group members and start coding. Some open adda at TONG(Tea Stall)(Informal meeting) happened. It was learned that now a days Python, Perl, Java and other languages are gaining popularity because of their simplicity and strength. Students in the adda, asked questions ranging from developing Robot to future career scope. A session conducted by Omar Shehab, on Development Process of Software System.

The camp will continue till morning of the 17th August. On that day, all 4 team will present their final product. All the programming code of the sprint will be released under GPL after final modifications and testing, if necessary.
